Jun, Yaozhou and Longquan: Three Different Kilns, Three Common Factors
This is the AGM 2023 Lecture and Reception
The lecture draws on material used in the essays for three recent books:
Dazzling Official Jun Wares from Museums and Collections Around the World (2021): Yaozhou Wares From Museums and Art Institutes Around the World: Including Yaozhou Tribute Wares (2022):
Jade Green and Kingfisher Blue: Longquan Wares from Museums and Art Institutes Around the World (2023).
The three kilns that are the subject of the books are different in date, in location and in vital characteristics. Nonetheless, in the course of research three factors emerged that are common to all of them, and that will form the substance of the lecture.
This event is kindly sponsored by Shang Shan Tang
